Frogston Farm
We are incredibly proud of our farm at Frogston! It is not finished yet, but together we are creating a living, breathing space where our pupils have access to high quality outdoor learning and the opportunity to learn about food and animal husbandry by taking part in it. We have planting boxes for crops, fruit trees, a pond and 3 very friendly chickens.
From P3 onwards, each class takes it in turns to look after our gorgeous chickens. They ensure that the chickens have enough food and clean water, ensure that they and their coop and enclosure are clean, AND they collect and use any eggs the chickens lay!
Currently, we have 3 hens called Ethel, Irena and Kylie.
At weekends and during the holidays, our parents and families look after the chickens! If this is something you would be interested in, keep an eye on our weekly newsletter as the sign up form is posted in it every 2 months. Full training is provided and it is a wonderfully wholesome family activity for all involved!

Community Garden
At Frogston Primary School, we have been working hard with our pupils and families to create a vibrant community garden. Currently, our community garden occupies part of the strip of land immediately in front of our school. There we have planted raspberries, strawberries, redcurrants, apples, cherries and herbs for our whole community to access and enjoy whenever they want. We also plant annual crops including peas and beans.
Our Community Garden is wonderfully supported by our Gardening Gang! Every Friday after school (weather permitting), our depute Aimee meets with families in front of the school, to nurture, maintain and expand our community garden. All families are welcome to join this vibrant community where we not only garden, but swap snack recipes and provide additional support to Frogston Farm.
Community gardens provide significant health, social, and environmental benefits by improving access to fresh produce, increasing physical activity, and reducing stress. They foster social inclusion, strengthen community bonds, and educate on sustainability. They help to reduce urban heat, support local biodiversity, and transform neglected areas into productive, beautiful, and safe, community-focused hubs. We hope to continue to expand and improve our Community Garden and are always looking for additional volunteers and ideas.
